An Aquanatal Yoga Class for Pregnant Women in Oldham

“Becky's aqua natal classes were a fun way to keep fit throughout my pregnancy and a great way to meet other mums. The hypnobirthing course we did with Becky made a huge difference to my labour and recovery, giving us the confidence and calmness to have a positive birth experience. I'm still using the techniques now as a new mum and swear by it! Thank you” Suzanne Godfrey

An Aquanatal Yoga Class for Pregnant Women in Oldham

When you’re swimming with Our First Steps you can be sure you’re in the safest of hands. Our instructor, Becky, is trained by Birthlight which is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. Becky is also one of the founders and owners of Dolphin Academy, Oldham’s top private swim school. We are the only Birthlight certified provider in the Northeast and Northwest of England.

Birthlight is informed by cutting edge medical and scientific research but its hallmark is simplicity and accessibility to all pregnant women, whatever their state of fitness, their condition or their cultural background. Birthlight gets its name from giving women practical resources for ‘birthing lightly’, making space in themselves and using the breath to ‘exhale push’ their babies without undue strain. You can find out more about Birthlight on their website.

“I started Aqua Natal with Becky when I was 20 weeks pregnant upon recommendation from a friend. I was made to feel welcome from the start and I loved I could still exercise without feeling uncomfortable and I had the best nights sleep after class. I would definitely do the classes again next time! I then started taking Noah swimming when he was 8 weeks old, both my husband and I wanted to build his confidence in the water from a young age. I love baby swim classes and will be continuing with them when I go back to work. Becky is really supportive and brilliant with all the babies. We’ve just been on our first holiday to Menorca and spent so much time in the pool using the skills we’ve learnt in class. We’ve also formed some friendships along the way which has been really lovely as a new mum“ Sarah Luker
